One Month To Go

One month from today, on March 20, I will fly to the east coast to Charleston, SC. A fellow ElliptiGO rider from Charleston, Jim Wallace, will meet me at the airport late at night, put me up for the night, and give me a ride to Parris Island. He and his friend Ron Winney have even offered to sag for me for the first week or so. That will be a great help in launching me on the trip as I am sure I will be able to learn a lot from both of them about cross country travel on a bike, aka ElliptiGO.

My training this past week was of a moderate nature. I want to do at least one more ride to the Semper Fi Fund offices in Camp Pendleton. This time I will take the coast route both going and coming back. That should make it about a 62 mile day with a break in between to visit. The last time I went there I got a flat tire just as I entered Camp Pendleton. I hope not  to repeat that experience since I got new Kevlar tires put on last week at ElliptiGO.

I will continue my training until at least mid March. The ElliptiGO will be shipped to the east coast at least a week before I fly there.

What route are you taking? Thru Indianapolis, IN? The Hiram I. Bearss Detachment of the Marine Corps League will support you on your journey.

Hi Ben, thanks for the offer but if you look at the route page on the blog you will see that I am taking a southern route and won’t come anywhere near Indianapolis.

If you know anyone along the route in those southern states let them know.
