Day 13 – Malone, FL to Chipley, FL

After a good breakfast with Jack and Debbie Slingerland, I took off from Malone, FL heading west on State Hwy 2 to Campbellton then SW on Hwy 273 to Chipley where I arrived around 11:30am. I rode around and stopped at various places and talked to people about my trip and about looking for a host for the night. That included stopping by the local newspaper office, the Washington County News, and am waiting to hear from their reporter Cecilia Spears.

Through a couple of references and after having a nice buffet lunch I managed to contact Brother Barry who runs a food and shelter operation and asked him about hosting me. He was able to put me up for the night at a very nice apartment in The Armstrong House, A Ministry Of West Florida Baptist Association, see picture below.

Am now at the Chipley Public Library using their hospitality and WIFI and catching up with my computer chores and hiding out from the expected afternoon rains, which now looks like they are passing south of us, while waiting to hear from Brian Anderson, a reporter from TV Station WJHG  in Panama City, FL, about doing an interview.

Will go back to my apartment, take a shower, do laundry, have a nice dinner (supper around here), and have a relaxing evening.

Donations for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund are coming in nicely, now up to $3346. Many thanks to all of you who have donated. Pass on the link to your Facebook friends and lets keep moving toward the $10,000 goal.
