Day 16 – Crestview, FL to Milton, FL

Below are some pictures of the outgoing and incoming crews at the Crestview Fire Station One this morning.

Today’s ride was one of the best so far. It was cool, flat, blue skies, and no wind and averaged 13.7 mph for the 36 miles, my best daily average so far. At a rest stop in Holt, FL there were various groups of bicyclists enjoying the day on one of the local bike trails.

Approaching Milton I noticed a red brick road running alongside Hwy 90 so took these pictures.

I am being hosted by another fire department, the Skyline FD in north Milton. Chief Johnson in Crestview set it up with Chief Diamond here. So far I have been hosted 8 of the 16 days by Fire and/or EMS stations and tomorrow I will stay at the Osceloa Station 12 in Pensacola, also with the help of Chief Johnson.

I wouldn’t mind being hosted by other stations all across the country, they make great hosts and great hamburgers.

Do you have your route posted. Maybe we can help with contacting fire stations. Are you coming through Arizona? I think you have to, right?
