Day 20 – Bayou La Batre, AL to Pascagoula, MS

Short blog today. Another day with good weather. Only half the distance from yesterday, 24.5 miles and mostly flat, just a few hills early on. I am blogging using the WIFI at a McDonalds near the station.

As I mentioned yesterday, I will be making more changes to my route to go through more populated cities. This will make it easier to connect with manned fire stations along the way. Tomorrow’s stay at the Gulfport Fire Station has already been approved by Chief Billy Bragg.

I look forward to making more connections like this from station to station with the help of the Chiefs and their staff.

As requested, here is a picture of me fully loaded. The backpack, with full bottles, weighs just under 18 lbs. The bag under the handle bars is a sleeping bag, and there are two small bags at the base with tools and spare parts.
