Day 38 – Huntsville, TX to Madisonville, TX

Some pictures of yesterday’s steak preparation and the Huntsville crew.

Much easier day today, just over 30 miles on the Interstate, first time on an Interstate, and I had a tailwind. The hills are levelled a bit and the shoulder was smooth most of the way. This was my fastest average speed so far, 14.4 mph.

Stopped at a rest stop on the Interstate about 10 miles out of Huntsville where I met some interesting people pictured below which included a 71 year old man from Korea and his 94 year old father. Both of them looked to be in very good health.

I was met by Captain Terry Rogers of the Madisonville Volunteer Fire Department. We talked for a while and he gave me a tour of the equipment at the station. A bit later Fernando Castro, Assistant Editor of the Madisonville Meteor newspaper came by to do an interview. Beverly Richardson-Phillips, a local woman who has been following my blogs since the March 9 interview on Fox and Friends from NYC, stopped by with her son. We talked a while and her son took a picture of us, see below. They came back later to take me out to dinner.

The last picture is the ElliptiGO next to one of their trucks.

Hi Dan and Lisa, still doing well on my 39th day. Both bike and body are holding up well, no problems with either. Getting new tires in Austin and a tune up for the bike.
