Day 61 – El Paso, TX to Vinton, TX

Chief Adler recommended the nearby Vinton station as having better accomodations to put me up than the origional destination in Anthony. This is the nicest and best equiped Volunteer Fire Station I have stayed at. This is my last stop in Texas, tomorrow I head to Las Cruces, NM.

It was a short and fast ride from El Paso to Vinton this morning. I had a Fire Truck escort the first five miles from the station to the Interstate 10 on-ramp over a section of roadway they deemed dangerous. Then it was just another 12 miles on the Interstate to Vinton and arrived around 10 am. Today has been a more relaxing day than yesterday with all the interviews over a five hour period.

The first four pictures were taken this morning in El Paso and the last four in Vinton.
