Day 65 – Deming, NM to Silver City, NM

Today was a long one but easier than yesterday. I left the Deming station at 6:20 am and the wind was pretty calm until mid morning. When it did start building up it was partly to my back so it even helped me a bit. Stopped for brunch in Hurley, about six miles from Santa Clara. Those miles and the next eight miles to Silver City were the toughest ones where both winds and hills were factors. Entering Silver City I stopped for a large strawberry shake before continuing to the city park where a big Blues Music Festival is taking place today and tomorrow.

That is where I met some of the Fire Department crew members who are helping with security during the festival. One of the crew walked me with the ElliptiGO to the fire station building just a few block from the park. I already took care of showering, doing laundry, some computer work, and will go back to the park to enjoy the music festival myself.

The two pictures below are from the Rincon and Deming stations. My internet connection last night was taking a long time transferring pictures so did not include these two. The Silver City crew will be busy at the festival till late tonight so will include their pictures tomorrow.
