Day 82 – Aguila, AZ to Salome, AZ

Today’s ride seemed almost flat, out of the 28 miles there was only a 345 feet decline between mile 8 and mile 24. Left early and arrived in Salome by 9:30 am then had to wait until after noon to get my hosting arrangements taken care of by Doug Wolf who had been contacted by Chief Bob Edwards from the Aguila Fire Department. Doug arranged with the Sheffler’s Motel owners to comp me the night’s stay and arranged for my stay tomorrow with the Fire Department in Quartzsite, AZ.

I was not able to take any pictures of the Aguila FD members so I took a couple of one of their big tankers. Not too many fire hydrants in the desert so they have to carry their own water when out on a fire call. Also took a couple of pictures of the Sheffler’s Motel. The restaurant across the road is where I had lunch and where I’ll have dinner tonight in a little while.
